I know this is badly belated, but my heart's just been too heavy over Davy's death to really know what to say. While Davy had never been my ~favorite~ (that's Micky), he was still someone I cared about. Odd as it might sound to a non-fan, losing him has felt like losing a member of the family.
Of course, as Bobby Singer famously noted on Supernatural, "family don't end with blood." And if J. J. Blair is right and Davy was indeed a believer, then he was my brother in Christ.
I don't know that much about how Mike and Peter are taking it. Micky confesses in virtually every interview I've read that he's still in shock, which is natural. So pray for them all, and for Davy's wife and daughters and grandkids, as they deal with this loss.
Just in case there's any doubt (and you haven't figured it out from looking at the rest of this site), I hold firmly to the "orthodox" definitions of prayer and salvation as expressed in the Bible. Check out my "Devil and Peter Tork" essay for further details.
Need some ideas of what to pray for the guys? Here are a couple of brief Scripture prayers you can use to get going:
"Lord, we know that You are not willing for the Monkees to perish, but that You want everyone to come to repentance. You want Micky, Mike, and Peter to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth" (2 Peter 3:9, I Timothy 2:4)
"I pray that the eyes of their hearts may be enlightened, so that they will know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of the inheritance in Your saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of Your power toward us who believe." (Ephesians 1:18-19 NASB)
